Freshly cut firewood (“green” wood) contains substantial moisture. Rondout Tree Service delivers split, seasoned hardwood firewood; it is not kiln-dried. The wood is processed and seasoned before delivery for use in wood stoves, fireplaces, cabins, and outdoor fire areas. Because firewood is stored and handled outdoors, temporary surface moisture from recent rain, snow, or humid weather may be present at delivery. Stack the wood off the ground in a covered, well-ventilated area and allow any surface moisture to dry before burning. Seasoned hardwood delivered in December, January, February, and March? Yes. Seasoned does not mean moisture-free. Because firewood is stored and transported outdoors, rain, snow, ice, condensation, or humid weather can create temporary surface moisture during delivery and handling. Surface moisture does not necessarily mean the interior wood is unseasoned. For best results, stack firewood off the ground with the top covered and the sides open for airflow. Allow surface moisture to dry before burning, and bring only a small, safe amount indoors ahead of use.

Firewood loads may include smaller split pieces that can be used as natural kindling. The mix and quantity vary by load and are not guaranteed to supply an entire burn season. If you prefer larger splits, request that when ordering. Split size and availability depend on the current inventory, and firewood should still be stacked and allowed to air after delivery.
